Road & Street Projects

The following is a brief description of selected projects and developments associated with the Dynatest Consulting Division.

They have been chosen to illustrate the diversity and extent of our experience, ranging from simple and routine pavement projects to complex and unusual ones.

More complete lists of projects are available, with Dynatest having completed well over 100 pavement evaluation projects over the past few years in the United States alone, plus at least an even larger number of pavement projects abroad

Qatar
DHDV (Digital Highway Distress Vehicle) and Friction Testing Reporting.

North Coast Highway Jamaica
FWD deflection testing of 150 kilometers to evaluate overlay requirements.

Florida Department of Transportation

Development of structural evaluation procedure for FDOT’s pavement management system.

Deflection testing is currently being carried out on a large number of Florida highways to determine if a model can be developed to predict onset of load associated distresses.

This model is intended to be incorporated into Florida DOT’s pavement management system.

FHWA SHRP LTPP

Prediction of Asphalt Temperatures and correction Factors for Deflection and Asphalt Modulus - 25 GPS sites tested at 1-month intervals for 18-24 months.

Performed deflection analysis to determine and quantify seasonal variations in modulus and deflections.
Developed mathematical models to predict variations.

The City of Ventura, California.

Totalling hundreds of streets and various annual contracts.

Routine deflection testing and analysis; pavement rehabilitation designs and alternatives.

The City of Malibu, California.
FWD testing and analysis of approximately 50 miles of roadway.

Used both CalTrans (empirical) and ELMOD® (mechanistic) methods of pavement overlay and rehabilitation design.

Currently involved in developing a state of the art pavement management system (PMS) for the entire 50 miles of roadway included in the city pavement network.

State of Alaska. Pavement Damage Factors
Evaluation of deflections at different load levels during spring thaw to determine relative damage effects, 1992-1993.
