  • Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering with multiple courses on Pavement and/or Transportation Engineering

  • Professional Engineer

  • 7-10yrs of experience in the pavement and transportation industry

  • Experience with GIS, CAD, data analysis tools, and Pavement Design software is a plus

  • Ability to travel (50% time)

  • Must be able to pass a background check to work on US military installations worldwide


Job Description


Dynatest’s Senior Project Engineers provide technical and consulting services for pavement analysis and design projects as well as pavement management.  A Senior Project Engineer is expected to work on new pavement and rehabilitation design and pavement management inspections and systems for both Department of Defense and commercial airports and roadway pavements. Senior Project Engineers are expected to become fluent operating and working with data from Dynatest’s suite of pavement testing equipment and pavement software. The equipment includes Light Weight Deflectometers (LWD), Falling Weight Deflectometers (FWD), Heavy Weight Deflectometers (HWD), pavement profilers, highway and airfield friction testers, and pavement imaging systems. The software the Senior Project Engineer will need to learn includes MicroPAVER, StreetSaver, ELMOD, ArcGIS, Dynatest Explorer, Dynatest Control Center, Dynatest Solution Center, and others. As part of your position, a moderate amount of travel is required for project and business development purposes.


Senior Project Engineers must have a professional engineering license and supervise junior engineers. After six months of employment, Senior Project Engineers are expected to be able to solicit projects and prepare high quality proposals to obtain contracts. After one year of employment, project engineers are expected to work independently and generate revenue for Dynatest. Senior Project Engineers will supervise junior engineers and are expected to be able to support two to four junior engineers and one to three technicians with project work.




  • Assess the structure integrity of the existing pavement, determining the remaining life of the pavement and provide sustainable rehabilitation design recommendations to our clients using Elmond and/or CalME. 

  • Closely work with technicians to conduct pavement condition surveys.

  • Determine the pavement condition index (PCI) using PAVER and Street Saver.

  • Communication with clients regarding project issues and attends meeting as required.

  • Prepare detailed street condition reports for our clients.

  • Prepare project proposals

  • Supervise junior engineers

  • Support assigned junior engineer and technician salaries with projects
